Link hygiene guide

A short review process for keeping public and private directories trustworthy.

Weekly quick scan

Run a fast check every week for high traffic directories. Open a small sample of links, remove anything broken, and fix titles that are no longer accurate.

Monthly deep review

  • Confirm the directory description still matches the contents.
  • Merge or remove duplicate links.
  • Update notes with current context.
  • Normalize tags and remove unused ones.

Public directory standards

Public directories should be curated and descriptive. If a link is promotional or no longer relevant, remove it. If you would not send it to a client, it should not be public.

Reporting and moderation

If you see a directory that violates policy, report it. We review reports and may remove content from public view during review.
